2 Year Unit (Ladybirds)

The staff in Ladybirds are:

  • Mrs Joanne Smith – Room Leader, Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Mrs Emma Wood - Teaching and Learning Assistant am
  • Mrs Carla Herrod - Teaching and Learning Assistant am

At Dallimore, we are lucky to have a purpose-built room for children who are 2 to 3  years old. Children can start in Ladybirds in the term after their second birthday.

The facility is, primarily, for families who are eligible for 15 hours free childcare but, if the space allows, we may be able to offer spaces for families who are able to pay. Anyone wishing to access either a free or paid place should contact the school office. Ladybirds is open both mornings (8.45am to 11.45am) and afternoons (12.45pm to 3.45pm).

The staff plan a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that develop the skills relevant to children aged 2 to 3 years old.

There are opportunities for the children to learn through play and develop their social and emotional, speaking and physical skills. They learn to form relationships with the staff and other children of their age.

We are passionate about working with parents to help them support their children at home and will always provide tips and strategies where possible.

If you would like to find out a little bit more about LADYBIRDS, please contact the school office on 0115 9320741 to arrange for a discussion or a visit.
