Good morning,

Today sees the lifting of restrictions and this means some important changes for us at school.
I have attached some information with regard to the new procedures should your child have a positive lateral flow or PCR test.

In short:

If your child has any positive test then Track and Trace will contact you directly and you will be asked to give details of any close contact that your child has had.
It will no longer be the responsibility of school to close whole classes or identify close contacts.

For the last few days of school it would be very much appreciated by all the staff in school if you would continue to wear a face covering whilst dropping off and picking up from school (a bit late for today I realise), although we appreciate this is uncomfortable in the warm weather.

We are not required to maintain bubbles in school but we will be continuing to do this until we break up on Wednesday. We will also continue with hand washing and sanitising throughout the day.

Thank you and here's hoping for a lovely last few days in school.

Good morning everyone,

As you are aware we currently have 3 classes and the office staff isolating. Additionally we have parents recording positive tests and children having to go home for tests and awaiting results.

Can I please ask that if you are in any doubt at all then you do not send your child to school. It is likely that, if they are feeling unwell or coughing, the office will contact you and ask you to collect asap and book a PCR test.

Please note:
We cannot accept a lateral flow test as proof of NEGATIVE and you must book a PCR so that your child can return to school.

However, we can accept a POSITIVE lateral flow test of a strong indication of the virus being present. Notification of a positive lateral flow will mean the bubble is closed/ required to isolate and then this should be confirmed with a PCR. If this is negative then the class can return.

Thank you- any questions please just ask.

Good afternoon everyone,

I just want to update you with the current situation at school with regard to bubble closures.

We currently have 5 classes isolating: 2 are returning on Tuesday and the other 3 are returning on Monday 19th.

Additionally, there will be no office staff on site this week unless a PCR indicates a negative result (including Mrs Smith and Myself)

Most cases do not have any symptoms and have been picked up via Lateral Flow Tests and seem to have been brought in from outside of school rather than spreading within school.

It is clear that the Delta variant can spread very quickly and has many different symptoms (see letter below) and I would ask that you take action immediately should your child show any symptoms.

I will continue to liaise with public health but can assure you that, all the protective measures that have been used since September remain in place.

Fingers crossed these cases will stay isolated, but this means everyone following the isolation guidelines eg if your child is asked to isolate, they do no leave the house at all.

If you need any information or support with any of this please do not hesitate to contact me or another member of staff (not after 8pm if at all possible).

Thank you for your support over this difficult period.

On Friday 9th we will continue with the FOOTBALL KIT/ SHIRT/ RED AND/ WHITE CLOTHES theme as this is obviously giving the team lots of luck.

On MONDAY 12th: Registers will not close until 10.30am so if you have a late night/ struggling to get up then you can come to school late BUT:

School will be open as normal (including breakfast club etc) and staff will be in classes from 8.40am as usual.
